Dr. Cordner, a Board Certified psychiatrist, is committed to the exceptional care of those who are facing mental suffering and seeking hope. Dr. Cordner is committed to working with patients and families to minimize symptoms, maximize functioning, strengthen relationships, and build resilience.

Before joining the MindWork Group in January 2024, Dr. Cordner completed an MD-PhD as well as psychiatry training at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Cordner then served as a faculty member in the Johns Hopkins Mood Disorders Center where he provided treatment in outpatient, inpatient, and specialty consultation settings. Dr. Cordner also has extensive expertise in leadership, mentorship, education, and program building as well as over 15 years of research experience that has been supported by major grants from the National Institutes of Health and private foundations and resulted in over 40 scientific publications. He has been recognized by the American Psychological Association as a Fellow.

Dr. Cordner is a leading expert in the care of patients with complex and difficult to treat disorders as well as individuals with comorbid substance use and medical problems that require a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach. With a commitment to person-centered, evidence-based treatment, Dr. Cordner uses individual, group, and family-based therapy as well as medication. In addition to longitudinal care, Dr. Cordner has served as an expert consultant for countless professionals, executives, leaders, and their treatment teams.
