David Miranda, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Miranda is a clinical psychologist whose focus is psychological treatment of adults and adolescents struggling with life difficulties brought on by personality disorders. Prior to joining MindWork Group, he conducted social marketing research to support clearer communications from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and to promote informed choice among Medicare beneficiaries.
Previously affiliated with McLean and Franklin Square Hospitals, the Rosewood Center and Youth-in-Transition, Dr. Miranda has been licensed by the State of Maryland since 1993. He earned bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from Harvard University and UCLA. He trained in an interdisciplinary postdoctoral fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the University of Maryland at Baltimore and is currently a student in the Psychoanalytic Studies Program and at the Washington-Baltimore Psychoanalytic Center.
He is a member of the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, the Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology, and the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. He sees individuals, families and couples for psychotherapy and leads psychotherapy groups, with a focus on experiential learning, promoting self-awareness, and building resilience.
